Want to get landscape savvy (and who wouldn’t)? Then be sure to sign up for this class: “Landscape Basics” on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Valley Ranch Home Office. The class will be held from 10:00am until 12:00 noon. There is no charge for this program.
“Landscape Basics” will teach the steps to constructing and installing a sustainable landscape or garden. You will learn proper soil preparation, native and adaptive plant selection, and how to design and plan a small or large project. A plant list will be provided.
The class will be conducted by Patrick Dickinson, Program Coordinator, from Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Dallas. Patrick has a Bachelor’s of Science in Horticulture from Tarleton State University, is an ISA Certified Arborist and has extensive experience in the Texas Horticulture Industry. Patrick addresses professionals and the public to provide the most sustainable information about landscape water use, from design and plant selection, to water conserving landscape management practices.
